Beyond Fashion: From Hospital Bed to Kimono Design

Arise and Shine!

Today, I share a personal journey that has led to the creation of something truly special. Just seven months ago, my life took an unexpected turn when I found myself admitted to the hospital due to having vasa previa and placenta previa. The experience was both interesting and, undoubtedly, a blessing in disguise.

During this challenging period, a powerful dream started to take shape in my mind—one that involved designing a signature piece for DLANG Designs™. The motivation behind this dream was deeply rooted in my own journey, particularly the unique circumstances surrounding my pregnancy. My placenta was split in two, and my babies' blood vessels were close to my cervix.

As I navigated through the intricacies of my hospital stay, I found inspiration and purpose. The desire to create something both comfortable and beautiful, a piece that could seamlessly transition from day to night, led to me testing my Kimono design during my stay. By the grace of God, the vessels moved substantially before my daughter was born, but she was born early.

The idea of the Kimono emerged as a symbol of resilience and grace—qualities I clung to during my time in the NICU. The experience of witnessing the strength of mothers in similar situations fueled my determination to contribute in a meaningful way.

Hence, a beautiful mission unfolded: for every Kimono purchased, a care package is sent to a mother in the NICU. This initiative is not just a part of our brand ethos; it's a heartfelt commitment to support those who are undergoing a journey that is both challenging and transformative.

These kimonos, beyond their aesthetic appeal, carry the warmth of empathy and the promise of comfort. Each piece is a testament to the strength of mothers, a reminder of their impact.

I invite you to join us on this remarkable journey. By purchasing a Kimono, you not only acquire a unique and stylish piece but also become a part of a movement to spread love and support to mothers in the NICU.

Thank you for being a cherished part of our story. Together, let's make a difference, one Kimono at a time.

To Impact Through Fashion!
